Throw Back To Make Fashion Show In YYC
There is no better way to celebrate the 1st of the month than to attend Calgary’s very own Make Fashion Show. A fashion show where designers play with technology to create beautiful pieces that symbolize where the future of fashion is headed.
Hosted at Telus Sparks, with over 300 tickets sold the space was packed full with beautiful people, fashion designers and tech gurus. Launched in June 2012 by a trio of Calgarians, MakeFashion has produced over 60 wearable tech garments and showcased at over 40 international events. Make Fashion introduces fashion designers and artists to the exciting world of wearables through a series of informative, hands-on, designer-lead workshops. There is an annual gala in Calgary, where Canada debuts new collections of innovative fashion technology combined with theatre and performance. MakeFashion has showcased unique projects at fashion and maker events around the world including New York, Rome, and Shenzhen.
Think of a world where the garments you wear can change temperature based on your body temperature, monitor your vital signs and the necklaces you wear light up when the sun goes down. This is now achievable by combining artists, fashion designers and engineers to create truly unique high end fashion.
