I’m sitting at work, when my good friend Sarah calls me up to say “I want to do a photoshoot for a new session and you’re going to model for me!” Let me start by giving you a little back story. Sarah is a super talented photographer and we have been good girlfriends for about two years now. We have had the most ridiculous of times and conversations so when she called I knew this was going to be fun. She gave me zero time to prepare because when this woman has a mission she goes for it. She told me the photoshoot was tomorrow and to be at her house for hair and makeup by 8:00am. So at this point i’m thinking it’s go time and I just committed myself to either a really fun day or I am going to face my worst fears of knowing how hideous I look in front of the camera.
Alarm goes off at 6:30 am and I press that snooze button at least 3 times. Finally, by 7: 15 am I realize I have to rush my ass out of bed if I want to grab coffee before I get there. I arrive 10 minutes late (and I hate being late but this was fucking early) Sarah is standing there with a make up artist from Eye Candy Beauty and hair stylist Heather Macquarrie to get me all dolled up, which is a first for me. I don’t love putting my faith and trust into professionals who don’t know how I like my hair or how I wear my makeup. Needless to say they did a great job and I was impressed.
Let me first explain the weather on Wednesday. It was a tad chilly and when I say a tad it was fucking 15 degrees and there was no sunshine and I had to get half naked while my friend was taking photos of me in awkward positions. Let me also just send a quick shout out to all my home girl models, because that shit is HARD.
The day went relatively smoothly, it took me a while to get into the swing of things but overall I am so happy I did it. I was mostly impressed with how creative and professional Sarah was and how comfortable she made me feel. Sarah will be hosting a day of BAE session on August 27th and we highly recommend you ladies try it out. Check out her website here for details.
